What are we?

The Campus Council in Narvik is the local student democracy. We work for the rights and welfare of students at Narvik campus, including Bodø and Mo i Rana. Independent from the UiT administration, we handle issues of interest from the student body or individual cases to ensure a good study environment. Our presence is first felt through the class representative system, which is crucial for voicing and addressing educational concerns.

Do you have an issue important to students or your studies? Contact us! If it's beyond our scope, we’ll guide you to the right authority.

SHORT AND CONSISTENT

We advocate for student issues locally.

We protect your rights: democratic, economic, and academic.

We ensure a functional class representative system locally.

Finally, we work on your welfare and well-being in everyday studies and student life.

Why do we have a local student democracy?

The student democracy is here for you to promote important issues that you and the student body consider crucial for daily academic life. Our agenda includes your democratic, economic, and student rights. It can be challenging to be heard when standing alone on important matters, which is why the student democracy is a significant presence on campus, addressing individual cases, participating in meetings, and contributing to university projects that directly impact students' daily lives.

Student Engagement

One of the most important aspects of a well-functioning student democracy is student engagement.

If issues are not raised, they cannot be addressed.

If we as students do not get involved in key roles like class representatives, main representatives, and working committees, or if we do not use our voice in elections and general assemblies, the student democracy will be lacking and weakened.

Therefore, it is crucial that you, as a student, stay informed, know about, and engage in local student politics and democracy to ensure a well-functioning and good academic life.

Make a conscious and active choice to get involved!
